Uconn is Stacked

 

I know everyone is in NFL mode but I still gotta keep a eye on my defending Champs the Uconn Huskies mens basketball team.  The Huskies and a whole bunch of other top colleges and Universities have been recruiting one of the nations top 5 big men, Mr. Andre Drummond. Uconn has a history of landing talented big men like, Emeka Okafur and Hasheem Thabeet, just to name a few. Now that Drummond has declared to come to Uconn this fall instead of attending prep school, this puts the Huskies right back into title contention for the next few years, since the Champs started 3 freshman in the 2010-2011 season the future looks bright.

KB oops I'm sorry, I mean KD, Kevin Durant has proved himself in the NBA as one of the current and future superstars to carry the torch.  His game is crazy and now he has brought it to the hood to prove to Harlem USA what his street game is all about.  He dropped 66points in the world famous Rucker Park and had the crowd going wild after hitting 5 straight 3's from about half court.  I give much props to any NBA baller who steps into the Rucker and displays their skills for true fans.  Its one thing to play organized coached basketball, but the Rucker demands your roots, wherever a baller comes from.  Who got next??

Football is Back Baby

Wow, after months and months of arguing and fighting over billions the NFL owners and NFL players have finally come to agreement on how to split revenue. As a football fan all my life I am ecstatic to hear this news. I never actually thought this lockout would cost actual games but the season has been slowly creeping up on us, which made today's news pretty clutch. I do wonder what type of effect it has on the game though, will the players be off cue, will there be a lot of procedural penalties, quality rookie players, or just overall trust in the team? I'm pretty sure the first few weeks will be a little rough but I think we are in for a treat. Are You Ready For Some Football!!!(Hank Williams Jr. Voice)

Not Again

With the NFL already locked out, the NBA has come to the same crossroads and threaten  to sacrifice the entire 2011/2012 season.  Will we have any sports to look forward to this fall and winter??

NBA Finals 2011

Vs.

The 2011 NBA Finals is set, we got the Dallas Mavericks against the Miami Heat. Some pretty good story lines here taking place in 2 of the most popular cities in the country. Will Dirk, J.Kidd, The Jet finally reach the mountain top and bring Dallas a Championship, or will MH(most hated) Lebron, Wade, and Bosh live up to all the hype. Both teams are playing great basketball and the chemistry on the court is really great for all basketball fans. The finals begin on Tuesday 5-31-11 @ 9pm, we'll see if the Mavs can get that much deserved ring or will this be the 1st of the multiple championships Lebron and co are expecting.

Ya'll Playing Games

The NFL lockout is now in its 11th week and there are a lot of issues still to be sorted. The real victims of the NFL lockout isn't the players or owners, its everyone else. Stadium workers, ticket vendors, tailgaters, bookies, and Fantasy Football junkies all over the world. That's just the beginning, the owners and players have their millions stashed away, but those mouths that depend on this MULTI-BILLION dollar industry will be locked out of their lively-hood. When times get hard people get desperate and the results of desperation can be tragic.

Slime Flu of the Feet

Slime!!!(Vado Voice) Yo the New Foams came out today at the H-Town House of Hoops or any other official kicks spot near you.  These are black/electric green, basically the reverse of the slimers that were released in March of this year.

 

I would highly suggest those of you that weren’t bold enough or loyal enough to the Foamposite collection to grab the slimers, to make these apart of your collection.  Make it quick because you already know how fast these will go.

The Fun Starts Sunday

 

Thanks to Oprah Winfrey, the Eastern Conference Finals begin this sunday 5/15/11 in Chicago. Apparently she rented out the United Center to shoot a episode of her show. This is the match up a lot of people have been waiting for since 'The Decision" by Lebron. The Bulls where one of the teams looking to acquire James talents to play with the MVP Derrick Rose. So naturally a rivalry is born and all NBA Basketball fans have the opportunity to witness the next era of NBA action 1 day early.. Thanks Oprah

Death of a Dynasty ?

The LA Lakers were swept last night by the Dallas Mavericks, and they will be watching the rest of the playoffs from home for the first time since 2008.  Thats a pretty good run, but that fact still has all the haters out chirping and dancing in the streets.  I guess they should sing and dance now because we all know it will be short lived.  LA, despite potentially losing Phil Jackson, will have a solid coaching staff in place, key players under very well structured contracts, a Hall of Fame player, and stacks on deck.  The organization is also a solid one with smart people making smart decisions so with a few key trades and wise spending it will not be long before the Lakers will be back on the mountain top.  Watch your mouth haters, the Lakers are listening.

NCAA Basketball Champs

Duke beats Butler 61-59 for fourth NCAA National Championship. Butler took Duke to the final possession Monday night, but Gordon Hayward’s potential game winning shot drew iron. Scheyer, Zoubek & Thomas combined for 29 points to lead the Blue Devils past the Bulldogs.

 

Maya Moore scored 23 points and helped Connecticut rally to beat Stanford 53-47 for its second straight undefeated championship season. After trailing by eight at halftime, the Huskies bounced back and played like champs to claim their seventh national title. UConn (39-0) won its 78th straight, extending its women's NCAA record for consecutive victories.
